With Singletown Singleton about to suck the life-blood out of the Mercury News, the paper's union is holding a key meeting on the issue:

And of course most of the newspaper's readers are unaware how dire the situation is, since the Mercury News so far has yet to print one word about it-classic example of ownership control of information.
